This is the story of Frank and Lace, a couple of Chancho City locals who interfere with the shady affairs of Dr. Jerome. As they get caught between his henchmen and the police, they must find the way out of it.

Two Chancho City local roommates, Frank and Lace, in the struggle to pay their rent "acquire" a bag containing half a million dollars...
but the money, "found" in their neighbor Joe's apartment, belongs to his boss Dr. Jerome, an international drug lord.

When the number 6 on their apartment door accidentally swings down and becomes the number 9, Frank and Lace receive some strange, unexpected visits. The first is a brief but intense visit from Clay, one of Dr. Jerome's henchmen. The next visit is from their poker buddy and friend, detective Gary, along with a police officer. And, they are all looking for the same thing: Dr. Jerome's driver, Joe, who left a dead man at the scene of an accident and took off with the drug money.

While Frank and Lace are looking for a good hideout for the stash, Joe is caught by Clay and then confronted by an angry Dr. Jerome. But Joe has no intention of returning the money. With the help of Dr. Jerome's mistress, Sheilla, Joe escapes and goes back to his apartment. To his surprise, the money is gone.

After going through a number of misadventures, the tension becomes too great for them and the two roomates abandon their quest. They return the money to the police as "found by the river". Finally, Lace, lured by an ad in the local paper, meets with reporter Allen Deloitte who gives him the rent money in exchange for "the facts" of the case for his article.

Note:The plot of the film opened up a variety of endings to the story, endings
that became the "winning combinations" of a boardgame design based on the movie.
